feelings consist of
-fear
-excitement
-exhaustion

-happiness

-a lot of my excitement comes from buying THIS comforter and decorating my room accordingly :)

i'm loving THIS album

try listening to "Love the way you lie pt. 2".. it's pretty much great!

-waiting for seasons 2, 3 and 5 of THIS show to arrive in the mail. totally cheap at walmart.com and

i've officially decided on a career that includes this kind of thing

i can't wait to get started with it!

i am excited to move, it will be nice to have my own place
i just wish it wasn't even an hour from my family!

RuNNiNg Up tHAt HiLL..

so... since i've been living at home, and driving back and forth
between Orem and Fairview...
i haven't had as much time to watch actual tv.
(strange, i know right?)
anyway, so i just watch new episodes of my current shows online
and then things on netflix...
but i recently decided to try watching a tv show that is on the same
channel as One Tree Hill and Vampire Diaries...
"Life UneXpected"

it's about a 15, 2 days away from 16 year old who has been in foster homes
since she was born.
for her 16th birthday, she wants emancipation so she can
live on her own but she needs her birth parents signatures.
so she goes to find them and this whole thing starts...
it's got all the elements of a good show:
-surprise
-drama
-relationships
-a history
-hot guys like Kerr Smith... (remember Dawson's Creek anyone?)

anywa... so i become a fan of the show..
i watch all.. 24 episodes that are out so far...
only to find out, that the final is in January and the CW is taking it off the air!
i HATE when things like that happen!
anyway..
thats not life changing or anything!
bUt ThIS iS:

and so is this:

here's our little boy!
he's so sweet!
his weight has gone up and he's being a good little eater so
we're hoping things move swiftly and we get him home SOON!

i don't really want to get in deep today so...
life is fabulous!
i'm exhausted...aLWaYS
and i'm hoping for a little "Delena" tonight on The Vampire Diaries...

oh and... this next month is going to suck w/out new episodes of
that show AND One Tree Hill AND every other
show on television...
whelp, tis the season...

iF tONiGhT Is mY LasT...

i wish i had something profound to talk about today...
something of great importance or meaningful
but i don't...
just a few meaningless, boring updates:

-i've recently discovered i can watch all 7 seasons of THIS show on netflix

a show i use to watch daily in high school...
it's one of those things that kind of makes me revert back to the more simple days

-i recently came across THIS website

and i LOVE it!
if i had thousands of dollars, this is where i would spend a lot of it!

-THIS website is pretty awesome too
it's for the creative/crafty type people...
Hope Karney is a freelance designer and self taught artist in Baltimore
her blog makes me want to spend hours on a saturday morning at the craft store
and then lock myself in my room for hours that night,
cutting, pasting, drawing...

-i've been really into this Moroccan Oil hair product of late...
my mom actually ordered the hydrating styling cream and it came in a package with this so she gave it to me
its AMAZING!
i've only used it a couple times so far but it totally has soothed my hair so it doesn't
look as thick,
it's moistened my ends a lot so they don't look so choppy and dry
and it's reduced my blow drying time! i LOVE it!

-i discovered this song and i've been listening to it NONSTOP!

Laura Izibor is this Irish musician who is absolutely amazing!
she released her debut album last year and you should also check out her song
"Can't Be Love"

i've also been in love with THIS song from Glee... like the first freakin song
i've actually liked from this season... i miss last season :(
but this song is awesome...

pretty much the choreography rocks!

alright happy hump day!

tHE oNe WHeRe cHaNDler DOesN't LikE dOGs....

he's here!!!

Lawson Alma Pehrson
4lbs 10oz
17 inches long!
November 20, 2010

it was quite a ride for this little guy who was
7 weeks early
but he's here and both he and birth mother are doing well!

here is Abby, the birth mother holding the little guy!
his mom, Emilee got to hold him right before Abby for the first time!

and here is Cambree seeing her little brother for the first time!
i could not be happier for this perfect little family!
they don't have a definite date for him to get out of the hospital yet,
as they do with all premies they are guessing his due date (Jan 10th)  but
we're hoping and praying he will be home for Christmas!

i may have mentioned this before, but i really don't like
Thanksgiving
mostly because of the food
turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, yams...
none of that appeals to me!
but this year i wont complain because i have much to be thankful for!
i am alive
i have the most wonderful family in the entire world
i have everything i could ever want!
because it's not the possessions i have or if i am in a relationship or if i have all the friends in the world...
it's about the people and things that truly matter!
we are all SO blessed and i don't know where i would be
without the Gospel in my life!

on a more materialistic note:
i'm excited to watch every Thanksgiving episode of THIS show...
before Thanksgiving of course :)
-the one where the underdog gets away (season 1)
-the one with the football (season 3)
-the one with Chandler in a box (season 4)
-the one with the Thanksgiving flashbacks (season 5)
-the one where Ross got high (season 6)
-the one where Chandler doesn't like dogs (season 7)
-the one with the rumor (season 8)
-the one with Rachel's other sister (season 9)
-the one with the late Thanksgiving (season 10)
(... i may love this show a little too much!)

i can't wait until THIS episode of THIS show

oh and i'm hoping to get THIS for lunch today....

ahhh... it's a good life!
thats all :)

eVErY piCTuRe TeLLs A sTORy...

let's see.....

i purchased THIS Monday... :)

yes, i do LOVE it already!
don't get me wrong, i loved my mazda 3
but the cool things about this car:
-it's bigger
-it's pretty
-tinted windows
-it's a HONDA
and many other things... :)

i'm contemplating THIS hair cut......

just something i'm contemplating... wanting maybe a more grown up look to go with my new, grown up car! :)... we'll see

i'm super excited to see THIS girl... THIS weekend....

and within the next two weeks THESE people will have a new baby!!!

Abby is in the hospital right now.
she was leaking amniotic fluid and having contractions so they gave her a shot
to stop the labor and are hoping to get her through the next 24 hours at the least.
they're shooting for the 29th of November, by then the
babies lungs should be mostly developed but it can come at anytime
which is why they are keeping her in there until it does.
please, if you remember, keep our family in your prayers.
this happening is a miracle in itself so we're hoping
the rest can flow easy.

thats all for now!

and i was like.....

i have a SERIOUS case of the mondays....

i woke up this morning and thought about giving up diet pepsi,
then immediately decided today would not be the day.
possibly tomorrow... (or even next week)

as i was putting my "friends season7" dvd in to watch while i got ready for the day,
i turned around to see a mouse running across my floor.
yes, i spent the next ten minutes on top of the kitchen counter,
refusing to get down....
(oh and i probably wont be sleeping in my room tonight unless my dad THROUGHLY checks it over)

my stress level is rising as i look for not only a new car to buy...
but a place to live in january...
hence, not giving up diet pepsi...

i wore my hair curly today, something i haven't done since i was younger...
i feel like i'm in fifth grade....

netflix has officially become my new best friend along with jim, pam, michael scott and others
as i watch seasons 1-6 of "The Office" over and over and over again...

i'm going to the dr tonight... once again for my back/ neck pain sustained
during my attempt to be recruited as a stunt woman...
i'm hoping for drugs... but we'll see....

taylor swifts new cd "speak now" has not left my car stereo since i bought it, two weeks ago

thats all for now. hopefully this tides you over until i feel like posting about something
real, real awesome!

way into this world and to see Cambree with a little brother! she is SO excited and she is going to make such a good big sister!
i'm working on another post that will be forth coming soon because i've had some free time at work lately!

liFe UneXpeCtEd.....

alright...
so i had started a post last tuesday about how nerdy i am because i bought
a set of dvd's from the history channel called "Haunted Histories" and it has dvd's all about
the history of my favorite holiday, Halloween, and the history of vampires
and the salem witch trials and poltergeist and all these really awesome things and i was
going to finish the post when i got to work on wednesday
but.....

then something completely unexpected happened wednesday morning....
this...

and this....

at around 8:25 wednesday morning, i was just about 2-2.5 miles south of the billy's mtn.
turn-off, driving around a turn when i saw a yellow diesel truck driving the opposite way of me,
and coming into my lane.
my natural reflexes kicked in. i think i heard somewhere that it's even an
athletes reflex to jerk to the right.
well, thats what i did to get out of this trucks way.
i lost control of my car, spun around and rolled 1&1.5 times.
the next thing i remember was hanging upside down by my seatbelt and i think the first
thought that came to my mind was, "i have to get out of this car. it might be on fire or something else might happen if i stay in."
so i climbed through that teeny, tiny hole you see in the back window.
the car did land upside down so i was crawling on the roof.
everything that happened afterwards is kind of a long story.
my injuries are VERY minor compared to what they could've been.
a little whip lash, some definite soreness and a couple bruises.
now, there is a statement that i've said quite a bit in the last couple years
"I've been to way too many funerals of people I love for only being 22."
i will never say this statement again.
you see, i have friends in Heaven, and family too.
my Uncle Kim, Aunt Kay, Grandpa and Grandma Ericksen, Grandpa Bruce, my unborn
nephew Lawson and others...
and i know it was those Guardian Angels that were watching over me
wednesday morning.
this year has been a tough one for me. i've struggled somewhat majorly with my depression and feelings
of hopelessness and not wanting to be here.
things have gotten A LOT better for me in the past 3 months but now i know,
without a shadow of a doubt that i am here for a purpose.
the first roll my car took was on top of a pretty big boulder, that crushed in the backseat on
the drivers side.
if my car had hit that boulder even 2 feat further, i most likely would not be here
to tell you about it today.
and i will thank my Heavenly Father everyday for the rest of my life that I am here!
i am VERY blessed!
the driver of the truck that was coming into my lane pulled over for a minute and after he saw other people trying to take care of me, he nonchalantly asked if everyone was ok and then took off.
the Highway Patrolman said he was going to do what he could to see if he could find this guy
but we haven't heard anything yet.
that part of it really sucks. but i know that the insurance and money and new car stuff will all work out!

this accident opened my eyes about how quickly life can be taken away from us. i feel, in a way,
it was maybe Heavenly Fathers way of telling me that i need to get my butt in gear and become the best person that i can be because the end really is near.
not saying the end for me, but the Second Coming is near.
everyday this world gets more and more wicked and it gets harder to fight against the evilness but it IS possible to do so, and to win.

also, i know it hasn't even been a week since it happened, but i've really been trying these past couple days to  find the joy in everything. life is way too short to spend it obsessing over the little things when we should be looking at the big picture. i've been reading this book titled "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin

the books is all about how she spent a year of her life, testing theories and studies about being happier.
it's actually become a really insightful book and i would really recommend it to everyone.
if you're curious and have some free time, go mess around on her blog and read all about her happiness project and how you can start your own!

well thats all for now.
other than the fact that it's been cloudy, rainy and snowy this weekend and i've loved that i could just stay in pj's and my dad has started building fires in our wood burning stove!
the social life of living at home kind of sucks but this is the season that i love most being at home!
i can't wait till january comes and my Sky Sky and Casey move up here with me!!!

#Loveislouder

alright... it's friday.
i guess that means it's time to get down to the issues that have been on my mind lately.
as you all know, there have been a lot of stories in
the news lately about bullying= suicide for people of all ages around the world.
(the gay vs. not gay issues that are involved in some of these stories, i'm not even going to touch on that;
just fair warning)

bully: a blustering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who
habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people.

growing up, i was a pretty lonely kid. i related better to adults,
being that the siblings i grew up with, were 8-10 years older than myself.
i was desperate for people to like me, and terrified to let people in.
i was never in one specific "clique". i moved around from group to group,
figuring that way i had more friends but also not ever quite
fitting into the group the same ways they did.
it finally came to a breaking point where i wasn't "cool" enough to be with the
"popular" crowd because I had friends who were not of that crowd and
those friends were intimidated by me, them thinking i SHOULD
be with the "popular" crowd.
at the same time this was happening, i was also going through something at home that was
not pleasant and something i shouldn't have gone through alone.
i began to rely on myself and my family.
my life began to change.
i came to the realization that i needed to be around the people that mattered most.
at school, i would hang out in my cousin's classroom at any free time
i had, or, if that was not possible, i would sit in the hall and read a book, silently watching the goings on around me from the corner of my eye.
during the summer, i would get up, go to tennis classes and come home,
spending the days and evenings with my family.
you know that dream "sweet sixteen" birthday party?
i never got that. but i still believe spending it with my family was better than it could have ever been with a bunch of "friends".
school came around again and i still didn't know where i fit in. after i went through the things i did in my home life, i no longer believed in the superficial things the "popular" crowd did but i didn't want to let
anyone else in because of fear.
i made it through that year focusing on tennis and school. i made a few acquaintances
but that was all.
towards the end of the year, i competed in the "Miss Fairview" pageant and won.
for so long i had felt like an outcast, and now i was the center of attention.
i felt pressure. i felt that the person i was, STILL wasn't going to be enough for these people.
i wish i could say i took the high road.
i wish i could say i didn't cave and become what i was convinced everyone else wanted me to be. but that would be lying.
i developed an eating disorder. i became very thin, tan, blonde: the epitome of the Barbie stereotype.
people actually began to flock to me.
maybe it is because i had more self confidence. but how can you have self confidence, vying for everyones approval?

i'm still amazed to this day, how different people acted around me. it's sickening.
but with the help of my family and my Savior, i overcame this problem.
by the end of high school i had only a few "true" friends and that was ok with me.
the "popular" crowd was still superficial and mean but high school was over and i was moving on.

it's been almost 5 years since high school but some of the things people said/ did to me,
still haunt me to this day.
it amazes me how people who have been out of high school longer than i have,
still act this way.
it also amazes me that i still have to go through periods of time where i find out who my true friends are.
deciding whether to build bridges or to burn them is something i find myself doing,
sometimes weekly.
it's taken a long time but i am no longer crippled by them. i am now on the brink of finding
myself.
it gets better.

yes this video has to do with the trevor project
which is a helpline for gays (again, not going to touch that subject)
but it's a message for everyone.
from past experience: it DOES get better.
there was a point where i was at the lowest of the low. i had hit rock bottom and
i felt that there was no way up.
i felt the pain and the weight of everything gone wrong in my life on my shoulders.
but it got better.

lives are fragile. people are important.
it doesn't matter who they are or if they have the same beliefs we do,
they are still children of God and should be treated with the same
respect you would want to be treated.
everyone has a right to their own beliefs and practices.
it's called free agency.
but who are we to judge them or cast stones upon them?
trending topic on twitter. if you don't know what that is, click on the link and you will
find everyone in the world who is trying to make a difference.
after this became a trending topic, actress Brittany Snow got with MTV to launch a project that is explained as this:
"Love Is Louder is a movement that is hopefully going to bring some awareness and make some noise when it comes to teens who are feeling suicidal or even just sad, outcasts and being bullied and really feel like they have nowhere to turn."
loveislouder.com has an excellent list of resources that kids (or even adults i believe) can turn to instead of turning to the same resolution we hear of from stories in the news: suicide.

please people, just know that IT GETS BETTER!
if you're on the other side of this, help someone who needs to know it gets better.
be an example, teach, care, love....
we CAN make this world a better place and
it's got to start somewhere.....

breathe again...

so over the weekend i was thinking about what i want to be for
halloween.
this is my dream costume....
i am OBSESSED with the old south during the 1860's lately!
(well, the one that is portrayed in movies and books, not the whole slavery/ civil war thing!)
i love it all!
the dresses, the plantations, the big houses with the lavish parties and
well spoken, well educated people.

it would be my dream vacation to go back there to Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama,
North Carolina and so many more places!
there is such a mystique and mythological world that resonates from these
places and it would be so much fun to be able to see
this brought to life!

ok so i don't want to get too deep today. i do have a lot of issues that have been
on my mind over the past couple days but this beautiful grey, fall day has me in a really good mood!
so i'll just share with you some songs that i have been obsessed with lately!

time of our lives- tyrone wells

only one- alex band

breathe again- sara bareilles

now.. these might all seem like really sad songs to you.
but some of the greatest pictures are painted by the lyrics in these songs!
and sometimes people like to live in the heartache and the pain.
sometimes it's because these are the words they are too afraid to say.
sometimes it because they find comfort in the pain, it might be all they've ever known.
and sometimes it's because the heartache in these words reminds them that
somewhere out there is something better.
and that something is just waiting to
be invited in.
happy monday! xoxo

Prove Me....

it's fall!!!
 it's MY time of year!
*the leaves are changing colors from boring green to bright orange, red and yellow!
*the temperature is getting crisp, while the sun is still shining
*the smell of pumpkin, cinnamon and spice is in the air
*vampires, witches, ghosts and goblins are starting to come out while
spiders weave their webs around door frames and windows

*homemade favorites are being cooked everywhere including
my moms taco soup and my pumpkin chocolate chip bread
*i'm breaking out the sweaters, boots, scarves and crochet berets
*i get to enjoy two hours a week, all to myself, with no interruptions during new episodes of
one tree hill and the vampire diaries
*i get to start watching my favorite halloween movie
(ok ok... i watch it all year long anyway!)

and
for once a year... everything is magical to me!

so i've recently taken up a new hobby. now i say recent because
it only started monday!
i actually fulfilled my goal and started the "couch to 5k"!

it was weird to get done with the first training session and actually want to do more!
it makes it SO easy to get started.
i guess the whole reason i actually got the motivation to do this is because
there was a blog recently brought to my attention titled:
run sick boy run <- GO HERE
it's written by a man who has Cystic Fibrosis, the same disease my siblings are inflicted with.
i think every time someone in my family hears about someone with
cf, we are all intrigued.
well, this man read a blog post about a woman with cf who found that
running increased her lung functions by 75%!
so he has decided to try it as well.
not only has this man started to run/ train for a 5k but my very own brother has also!
if these people can do it, so can i!
after all, i am a lot healthier than they are and i have no excuse to not
get in shape.
so wish us all luck while we shoot to accomplish this goal!

on another note, i have to make some really big decisions within
the next couple days and i'm scared. but i also know that whatever decision i make,
Heavenly Father will be there by my side.
i've recently been enlightened by the fact that he will never leave me. ever.
this is something that is really amazing for me to discover.
i've never actually come to the realization of that.
in the last few months i've learned how to take control of my thoughts and feelings.
i've learned that knowledge is my defense against the adversary.
i've learned to take a second or even third look at situations and people before i
act.
i've also learned that a man wont complete me or make my life.
he'll just be the cherry on top when the time comes!
but until then, i need to make my life happen on my own. i need to surround myself
with people who will support me and love me.
i need to get an education and a career.
i need to make my spirituality and my testimony grow.
i need to serve the Lord and his people.
i need to improve myself and do whatever i can to improve the world i live in!
this song has really been on my mind lately and i would really love
to share it with you!

Prove Me- Hilary Weeks

Wavering faith
The kind of courage
And conviction that it takes
To leave your home behind
Part the Red Sea
I wonder
Did God plant that kind of strength in me

Just a seed now
But may be it will grow

-Chorus-

'Till prison walls
Crumble down around me
And I've escaped unscathed from the lion's den
When I have
Walked so far the handcarts start pushin' me
Until then
Prove me

Center on the wheel
Like clay in your hands
Ready to be shaped and molded by your hand
If you'll take this heart
willful as it seems
And through your mercy refine me until I'm complete

Though I'm weak now
You can make me strong

'Till on a wall
Arrows cannot harm me
Until my faith leads me into a grove of trees
When every
Nails in place before the reins
And floods come down
Until then
Prove me

I will step into the fires
Where your love can purify me
And I'll stay until you say I am through
Wash away all the falls and
Every earthly imperfection
Until my will turns to you

Until I trust
Without hesitation
When humility is chased away the pride
Until the day and through your grace I'm welcomed home
Until then
Prove me

*HAPPY FALL*
