So, it's been a while since I've posted! In my last post I declared I would be going private; Well due to the fact that there are some people out there who don't have blog accounts and they can't read about my fabulous life if I go private... I've put that idea on hold for a while!
So the last little while, I've been in, I don't know... a contemplative mood? I'm not sure that is the right word though...
I can thank my roommates for this one! Let me explain... My roommate April had never watched One Tree Hill. As you know, living with a One Tree Hill fanatic such as myself, this just wouldn't fly! My other two roommates love it and so we convinced April to start watching it after we finished season 3 of "How I Met Your Mother"...
It is now week 2 and she is on season 3! Ok so she doesn't really have a full time job right now so who could blame her?! Well thanks to the fact that the biggest t.v is in the living room, the rest of us have gotten to re-enjoy it as well! It's also been a good escape from the drama in my own life!
Now, One Tree Hill brings back a lot of memories. Some of these good, some.... not so good. But it's been a good time to reflect... It seems I do that a lot! In these reflections I've decided that right now I am twice the person I use to be, but half the person I once was... I think it's so easy to think back to high school and the person you use to be when times get tough. High school was so much easier, at least for me. Maybe it was the comfort of being in my parents home, maybe it was not having a full time job or having to be independent and take care of myself... but it was easier. Not that I don't love things right now.. I do! I love my roommates, I love my job and most of the people I work with :) It just gets hard sometimes. I'm guessing it gets hard for everyone though.
I've grown up a lot since high school. There are so many lessons I've learned and so many mistakes I've made and I wouldn't change it for the world. But lately I've been taking these things for granted. I haven't been as responsible as I should be. I haven't been the kind of person that I want to be, the kind of person I know I can be. I'm working on it. Every day is a new beginning. A chance to redefine ourselves. We can make new choices, choose a new path or continue building ourselves up on the path we've already chosen.
Ok, now I sound like a Hallmark commercial! But it's true, ya know? It's this way of thinking that gives me hope. Hope at the beginning of each day. Wow, who knew all of this could come from watching my favorite tv show?!!
Just want to leave you with this quote:
"There are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day, others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men at war with good, and some are good struggling with evil. 6 billion people in the world, 6 billion souls... and sometimes, all you need is ONE"
Something that has been on my mind a lot. I'm tired of having more than that one person that I can't trust. I want that one that I can..... Is that too much to ask?!
